I am happy that you’re here, I wish I could offer you a bottle of beer so that we sit and talk. But beer prices are a bit high today. But if you come tomorrow, I promise that I will offer you my world.

See, you and I are alike!
​
We’re both in our 20’s, nobody really knows us. Many times we feel lost because we are still trying to figure out who we are. We don’t have fat bank accounts yet, but we have dreams bigger than our current situations.
​
The only furthest place we have ever afforded to visit was our cousin leaving in a town next to ours during school holidays after mom packed a full suitcase that you have to fight for its space in a taxi.
​
But, we’re curious about the life outside the township. We want to know how to choose the right careers, we’re dying to get to university so that we can live in cities, we also want a buddy to help prepare us for our first interviews. Our parents are too shy to talk to us about dating, so we are dying for someone our age to give us dating tips. We also want to be like other kids and keep up with the latest trends but too bad they all cost more than our whole families salaries put together. If someone can at least show us how to make our wardrobes look the part that will be our own superhero.

Most importantly, we want to make the MOST of our 20’s without digging too much into our pockets and we really want to be the first in our families to graduate, have a decent job and inspire others.

Work Experience
2016 - Today
Multimedia Journalist for the leading media platform, Independent Newspapers. Under a department called The Young Independents that I and my two other colleagues started, which is a youth-centric platform nominated by the International News Media Association (INMA) as the best news website to engage with young audiences. My key roles include: managing TYI social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), growing social media audience, SEO content writing, helping to plan our Mzansi Top 100 event, marketing TYI brand via digital platforms and micro-managing our interns.
2015
PR Intern in a bronze award-winning boutique media relations agency named Splash PR and Media. My key roles as an intern included: Social Media tracking, creating media kits, help to plan and facilitate media kits, writing press releases and curating content for clients​.
2014
Volunteered at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) Green Team as a Public Relations assistant. The organization is responsible for creating awareness about nature and conversational issues on campus. My roles as a PR assistant included: Growing CPUT Green Team social media pages, creating newsletters with all Green news that the students needed to know about, helped to facilitate trips (such as beach cleanups), encouraged students to join the Green team via social media and face to face marketing, drafting of budgets for trips and apprroaching sponsors and writing press releases
